Another day goes by and you're getting more desperate. Your feeling depressed because you know you should have started that diet your have been talking about for months now but you haven't taken any action. I know exactly the emotions your going through, we get them in many different situations while going about our lives. Just remember, and this is important for you to know, 'Your not alone'. You may be thinking that everyone else has got it all together and they are in control of their lives. That's what their saying about you, believe it or not. Everyone has their demons and they fight them on a daily basis.
I hope that's made you feel a touch better, now that you know 'your not alone' what are you going to do about your situation? The best thing you can do right now is sit down, close your eyes and reflect on what's important for you right now. If it's losing some extra pounds (or many pounds) or improving your fitness then it's time to make it happen. My hope is that after reading this article it gives you enough inspiration and motivation to get off your butt and do something and by doing something, even if it's the tinniest thing may eventually lead to a life changing lifestyle. Make no mistake about that, all life changes start from a single step, even if they are a very small one.
I'm going to share with you my secret that took me years to discover, but have used this method to great effect that has helped me in all areas of my life. This method contains only two steps but they are very powerful and if used regularly can change your world for the better.
The first step I'm going to share with you is 'taking action'. As a matter of fact any action you take is enough to get those motivational juices in your brain working overtime. If you want to start an exercise program then simply get up of your butt (right now, or after reading this article) and go for a walk. While walking think about what exercise program you will put in place. Are you going to join the gym? Will you ring your friend to say 'let's do this'?, will you set aside three days a week that you will devote 45 minutes to physical activity, like walking or running. The possibilities are limitless, you know what you need to do, when you feel like you are not motivated, stand up and stretch or go for a walk. This always works for me and I'm sure it will for you too, if you just try it. Just remember this mantra and say it to yourself throughout the day, 'Feelings follow Actions'. This means don't wait until you feel motivated to train, get motivated by taking some action, even if that action is a small one.
The next step is to stay focussed on one thing at a time, if you have set yourself on a new diet, then commit to this diet for a length of time you have agreed on. So, if you decided on two months then focus on this diet or exercise program for that period without swaying in the slightest. Too often I people don't give enough time for a program to work, they move from one program to another looking for that magic diet or exercise program that going to work it's magic on them. The magic is you, your the one that will make it happen for you, no one will or can do it for you. When you finally make the decision, take a small step and give your 100% focus, success is guaranteed. So, next time your feeling frustrated with yourself and your lack of action, just remember to take a small step, by doing this you'll get back on track.
